The Institute of Microtechnology of the Technische Universität Braunschweig is looking to fill a PhD position (Entgeltgruppe E 13, m/w/d) as part of Prof. Dr. Andreas Dietzel’s research group. The earliest starting date for this position will be on 01.04.2020. The contract has a duration of two years with the option to be prolonged after an evaluation.
Broadly, the research topics to be explored are the construction of a paper-based biosensor with on-chip calibration for clinical monitoring, ambulance, emergencies, and patient self-monitoring and the build up of a functional model for a wide range of possible applications. The biosensor shall con-tain multiparametric, quantitative, immunochromatographic components. Research will focus on new materials, fabrication techniques, and novel sensor designs.
• An above-average degree in mechanical engineering, materials science, physics, or related
• Experience in sensor technology
• Experience in micro/nano-fabrication
• Theoretical and practical experience in the area of microfluidic systems
• Interest in gaining teaching experience
• Flexibility and reliability
• Good command of English, German beneficial
