Meteorologist / Physicist / Engineer m/f/d (25% position, 3 years) for
- wind lidar data analyses
- analyses of coastal effects
The Institute of Flight Guidance (IFF) is part of the Technische Universität Braunschweig, Germany, and located at the research airport of Braunschweig. IFF is looking for a meteorologist/physicist/engineer with long-term experience in wind lidar data analyses (both scanning lidar and profiling lidar) and experience in analyses of coastal effects.
We are looking for an outstanding senior research scientist, starting as soon as possible, to evaluate continuous wind lidar measurements in the German Bight with a particular focus on transformation processes of air masses crossing coastal areas.
We offer innovative technology, unique scientific data sets and the opportunity to co-operate with excellent scientists in the framework of the research project X-Wakes funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy
1. PhD in the field of meteorology/physics/engineering
2. Long-term experience in wind lidar data evaluation
3. Experience in the field of wind power research
4. Long-term experience in characterizing offshore wind conditions
5. Self-dependent work in a multi-disciplinary team
6. Excellent skills in English language and writing
7. Programming experience (scanning lidar data evaluation)
Depending on fulfillment of personal requirements, the remuneration for this 25 % position is based on the salary level up to TV-L E14 for a period of 3 years.
