The Technische Universität Braunschweig has excellent transport connections and is easy to reach either by car or public transport.

The TU’s Main Campus is located just 15 minutes by foot from the city centre. Its Historic Main Building, lecture halls, administration building and University Library are clustered around Pockelsstraße.

Additional sites include the East Campus with the engineering, pharmaceutics and physics institutes, the North Campus with the Humanities Centre, and the Campus Research Airport with the Automotive Research Centre Niedersachsen.

Braunschweig is the largest city between Berlin and Hannover and can easily be reached by car, train, coach or from the nearest airport.

Within the city, the busses and trams of the public transport system provide excellent connections to the various sites of Technische Universität Braunschweig.

By train, coach or public transport

Stadtplan

More than 200 trains arrive at Braunschweig Main Station every day. It is connected to the high-speed ICE and IC network, and the station is an important hub for regional rail transport.

Several coach operators provide services to Braunschweig’s bus terminal from all over Germany.

From the main station or bus terminal, a bus or tram ride to TU Braunschweig’s Main Campus will take about 15 minutes. Tickets can be purchased aboard the bus or tram.

A taxi ride from Braunschweig Main Station to the Main Campus will cost approximately €12.

By car

Braunschweig has excellent motorway connections:

  • A2 Berlin – Ruhr area
  • A39 Wolfsburg – Braunschweig – Salzgitter with a direct link to the A7 (toward Frankfurt am Main/Munich)
  • A395 Braunschweig – Harz (toward Halle/Leipzig)

Please note that parking space at the Main Campus is limited.

Thanks to its excellent rail and motorway connections, Braunschweig is easy to reach from the following large airports:

By bike

Braunschweig is a very bike-friendly city. The Main Campus can be reached from anywhere in the city in less than 30 minutes.
