Individuelle leistungslimitierende Prozesse und Alterungsmechanismen in elektrochemischen Speichern wie Lithiumionenbatterien identifizieren, verstehen und quantifizieren zu können, ist ein Hauptziel der Forschungsarbeit unseres Batterielabors. Im Mittelpunkt dieser Arbeit steht dabei die Anwendung und die Weiterentwicklung der elektrochemischen Impedanzspektroskopie, mit deren Hilfe sich elektrochemische Systeme differenziert analysieren lassen. Dabei spielen insbesondere eine kinetische Betrachtung sowie eine ortsaufgelöste Oberflächenanalytik eine zentrale Rolle.
Die Arbeiten unseres Batterielabors stehen in engem Zusammenwirken mit der Battery Lab Factory Braunschweig, BLB deren Mitglied unser Institut ist.
