Sustainable Cyber Physical Production Systems

Description and Learning Objectives

The term “cyber physical systems” (German: Industrie 4.0) describes the future increasing convergence of industrial production with digital technology, so the real ("physical") with the virtual ("cyber") world. In the lecture "Sustainable Cyber Physical Production Systems", fields of action such as data collection and processing, as well as modeling and simulation at different levels of observation of factories (production processes and –process chains, technical building services, building shell) will be considered intensely.

Apart from imparting the necessary theoretical background and existing solutions, additionally the demonstration of future technological developments and their potentials but also trade-offs in the context of sustainable production of particular relevance. Sustainable Production stands in this regard for an integrated technological, economic as well as ecological perspective.
