Seminars and training sessions at TU Braunschweig

Teachers, volunteers and full-time workers who assist refugees are faced with challenges that not only require empathy, but interreligious and intercultural sensitivity and a wide range of other skills like assistance in language learning, too. As a result, there is a high demand for further education and training in these areas.

Seminars and training sessions

The seminars, certificates and training sessions offered by TU Braunschweig are aimed at students, teachers and all interested individuals working with refugees. The Department of Humanities and Educational Science offers seminars and training on assistance in language learning and building interreligious and intercultural competence:

For students

During their studies, students have the opportunity to attend lectures in thes areas of language learning and intercultural competence. You can find an overview of the current lectures and seminars offered on the website of the Coordinating Office for Refugee Assistance in Language Learning. Each semester, students also have the opportunity to obtain a certificate in German as a Foreign/Second Language (DaF/DaZ).

For teachers

The Centre of Excellence in Teacher Training (KLBS) offers a range of further training on topics such as German as a Foreign/Second Language, Teaching Refugee Children and Inclusive Language Learning. You can find an up-to-date list of all KLBS events in the following event database.
During the second semester of each year, teachers also have the limited opportunity to obtain a DaF/DaZ certificate, which will give them the skills necessary to teach German as a foreign/second language. For more information on the course programme, please see the Institute for German Studies' website.

For volunteers and full-time workers

Volunteers or full-time workers who do not fall into either of the groups mentioned above can attend our various lectures and seminars and obtain a certificate in German as a Foreign/Second Language (DaF/DaZ certificate) on a guest student basis.
