short-description Introduction to stability theory by means of the Lagrange function and equation, determination of criteria for the sensetivity of equilibrium states, solution methods as for instance Ritz or Galerkin, direct solution of the differential equation, finite element solutions (linear stability and non-linear analysis), plate theory, imperfections, handbook methods, local and global buckling of stiffened structures, experimental analysis of buckling.
