short-description Basic handling of matrix methods, energy based determination of element stiffness matrices, in the case of different models, as e.g. trusses, beams, plates; use of shape functions, C0- and C1-continuity, Langrange and Hermite-polynomina, isoparametric elements, numerical integration, determination of distributed loads, handling of finite element systems in computer codes, solution methods, optimal numbering, superelements by collocation, basics in dynamics; practical work in the use of a commercial software (ANSYS)
