short-description Introduction of basic wording and processes, lightweight materials (metallic and hybrid, no composites): parameters, orientation, statistical basis; corrosion and corrosion prevention; joining (riveting, bonding and welding), types of joints, tapering, load transfer and secondary bending, rivet types, simple methods for the determination of stresses etc., load introduction into lightweight structures and lugs; stiffened structures, stability and damage tolerance as key criteria for the sizing of stiffened structures; typical larger structural items, like fuselage, wing and fuselage-wing attachment; aspects of production methods
