Research* Assistant (m/f/d)

 

Our profile:
Technische Universität Braunschweig, with almost 18,000 students and approximately 3,800 employees, offers a teaching and research spectrum with excellent facilities and a personal atmosphere at the same time. The Institute for Building Materials, Concrete Construction and Fire Safety (iBMB) is part of the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Environmental Sciences at the TU Braunschweig. It is a joint institute of four departments: Building Materials, Concrete Construction, Fire Safety, and Organic Building Materials and Wood Materials.

Your resonsibilities:

  • Conducting fire tests in the new Center for Fire Research (ZeBra),
  • Development of a method for data description and documentation of fire parameters,
  • Application and further development of fire simulation models such as the Fire Dynamic Simulator (FDS),
  • Contribution in teaching of students,
  • Scientific publications and lectures in the field of the department's activities,
  • Preparing of research proposals.

Your profile:

  • Completed scientific university degree in fire safety engineering, natural sciences, engineering or comparable
  • Interest in conducting experimental investigations
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of fire simulation programs
  • Ability to work in a team, creativity, analytical thinking as well as independent, result-oriented way of, good English and German skills

Our offer:
The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date and is initially limited to 2 years with the possibility of extension. The employment relationship is based on the German TV-L; the payment is according to the qualification and fulfillment of personal requirements up to pay group E13 TV-L. The opportunity for doctoral thesis is given.
