International Summer School for Teacher Education 2023

Join us from 19 June to 28 July 2023...

... and combine teacher education modules, German language classes and cultural experiences. We warmly welcome you to our summer school!

Together with students from all over the world, you can learn German, deepen your pedagogic knowledge, make new contacts and experience German history and culture at TU Braunschweig‘s Summer School courses.

Braunschweig is located in the state of LowerSaxony in the northern part of Germany and was founded more than 1000 years ago. For many centuries, the city was an important trading and cultural center in northern Germany. You can still stroll through medieval streets and discover many historic buildings in the city. Today, Braunschweig has about 250,000 inhabitants. The region is known for its particularly high level of investment in research and development: Many national research institutes and 250 companies in the high-tech sector make it one of the strongest research regions in the whole of Europe. The Technische Universität Braunschweig looks back on a history of almost 300 years and thus has the longest tradition among universities of technology in Germany. It is part of the TU9 network, the alliance of the nine leading institutes of technology in Germany.

In our summer course on Teacher Education we are offering you a mixed six-week programme. In the morning you will attend classes in German language and culture, in the afternoon you will take modules in teacher education, German history, and general education. You can additionally apply for one of the few job shadowing placements giving you the opportunity to have insights into a regional school for one day. Classes will be accompanied by an extensive social programme. We will visit historic towns, museums and regional companies, such as Volkswagen and Jägermeister. We will see some of TU Braunschweig’s research facilities and learn about innovative research projects. During field trips you will get more familiar with the nature and culture of the region. Fun activities and enough free time to explore Braunschweig on your own round off our programme.
