Computational Biomechanics

Course content

After completing the course attendees will be able to describe basic and advanced simulation techniques in biomechanics. Different modelling methods can be compared. Students are able to outline experimental approaches and setups for the investigation of biological tissues. Students analyze advanced problems that occur in biomechanics on the basis of scientific articles.

  • Material models for bones and soft tissues in the framework of continuum mechanics
  • Procedures for numerical implementation and simulation of proposed models
  • Fluids in biomechanics and their modeling
  • Experimental methods and applications in biomechanics
