For media that are not digitally available, you can submit an acquisition proposal. For media that are available in printed form but cannot be borrowed at present, we are considering the acquisition as an e-book.
The return of media can be done contactless for all users. Please note our opening hours from Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 15:00.
Please use our contactless return facilities in the foyer and in front of the library building.
Media ordered online will be ready for you to pick up the following business day and can be picked up within one week from the time of ordering. Orders received on Sundays are ready for collection on Tuesdays when the lending desk opens at 10 am.
Please remember to return your media in good time, as for reasons of hygiene they will only be returned after a delay of about 24 hours.
Please do not send any media back to us by post.
Can/must I extend media?
All loan periods have been extended by us to the period 4 - 8.5.2020.
All borrowed media can be extended indefinitely via your online user account.
I have reserved books. Will the reservation remain?
Existing reservations for borrowed media are retained.
Borrowed items will be available for you until one week after the library reopens.
In which form is the library open?
Learning places for TU members: Monday to Friday, 09:30 am to 14:30 pm
Lending desk: Monday to Friday, 10:00 to 15:00 hrs.
Due to the infection control and hygiene measures, a reduced number of employees is working in the public area of the University Library.
Reminders for UB's own stocks were reinstated on Monday, 1.6.20.
Please remember to return your media in good time, as they will be taken back with a delay of about 24 hours for reasons of hygiene.
We kindly ask you to settle open claims preferably by bank transfer.
Please note: Due to the book quarantine of 24 hours, media returned without contact will only be processed the next day between 15:00 hrs and 17:00 clock booked from your user account. Please check your user account from 17:00 hrs the day after the delivery before making any queries. If reminders have been issued despite the fact that the reminder was submitted on time (overlapping of automatic reminder dispatch and return), they will be cancelled.
I would like to hand in my dissertation. How can I do this?
It is still possible to hand in your thesis by post or on weekdays between 8 and 12 o’clock at the UB´s post office (delivery entrance from Konstantin-Uhde-Straße). Further information can be found on the page of the dissertation office.
I have booked a training or guided tour. Will it take place?
All trainings, workshops, guided tours and consulting appointments during closing hours are cancelled.
Do Citavi courses take place?
No, currently there are no courses taking place at the university. Accordingly, the UB does not offer any courses. When teaching is resumed, the University Library will again offer Citavi courses. If this results in a greater demand for training places, we will offer additional courses.a
I attended a course with UB participation. Can I still pick up my vouchers at the UB information desk?
No, unfortunately this is not possible during the prescribed closing time of the University Library. In urgent cases you can reach us via ub-informationskompetenz(at)tu-braunschweig.de. We will send the certificate to the examination office or confirm the participation by email.
