Dear Students and Lecturers, Ladies and Gentlemen,
I would like to welcome you to the summer semester 2022 at TU Braunschweig! I am pleased to inform you that the teaching traffic light will be set to green as of 19-Apr-2022. This means that all courses can take place again with full occupancy of the course rooms. In course rooms, it is possible to go below the minimum distance of 1.5 m if it is unavoidable. All other infection prevention measures of TU Braunschweig (such as the FFP2 mask mandate) continue to apply for the protection of students and lecturers. Student representative committees and accredited student initiatives can resume their work to the usual extent if the infection prevention measures are observed.
Fortunately, the number of infections in Lower Saxony has been falling since the end of March. However, the incidence is still very high. For this reason, I would like to ask the lecturers to record on-campus courses as widely as possible, provided the course format is suitable for this. In particular, large courses and those characterized by imparting knowledge (rather than discourse) should be recorded so that students who cannot attend large events (e.g. at-risk persons) or are still reluctant to attend can also benefit from this. Simple methods for recording with mobile technology can be found on the webpages of the Projekthaus (see "Aktuelles Erklärvideo" [in German]).
Due to the high incidence of infections, unknowingly infected students and lecturers will be attending in-person couses during the summer semester. If you test positive for SARS-CoV-2 after attending a course on campus, please continue to report your infection to corona_meldung(at)tu-braunschweig.de. We need this data to review our infection prevention measures and to steer the teaching and examination traffic lights. Contact tracing no longer takes place. However, for everyone's protection, complete reporting of all infections is still very important. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
COVID-19 infections will unfortunately also force students to stay away from courses. I kindly ask the lecturers for accommodating regulations with respect to absenteeism in this particular situation.
I look forward to welcoming you back to campus soon. Unfortunately, the pandemic is not over yet. Therefore, I ask you for circumspection on campus. I would like to thank all those involved for their commitment to making the coming semester a success!
Best regards, Knut Baumann
