To support our application-oriented research, we operate a high-performance research infrastructure with realistic demonstrators at the Institute for Intermodal Transport and Logistics Systems. These are used to test, validate and further develop our concepts under conditions that closely resemble real-world scenarios, thereby bridging the gap between theory and practice.
Our demonstrators enable:
- System tests under real-time conditions for the evaluation of algorithms, sensor technology and control strategies.
- Hardware-in-the-loop environments for integrating real components into virtual development environments.
- Scalable test fields for autonomous robot and vehicle fleets in intralogistics and urban environments.
- Digital twin simulation for modelling multimodal transport systems, charging infrastructure and logistics chains.
- Data-driven analysis platforms, including for mobility behaviour, energy requirements and infrastructural resilience.
