Cities must become more sustainable. For the sake of the planet, but also because people there are strongly affected by the consequences of climate change. Cities have the potential to be drivers of sustainable transformations. Copenhagen is a global role model in terms of sustainable urban transformation and decarbonization. To achieve the set goal of becoming the world's first carbon-neutral city, huge efforts are being made in the areas of mobility, energy supply and construction.
The seminar will examine Copenhagen's carbon neutrality measures under the formulated sustainability goals in the context of urban redevelopment. A fund of realized projects in Copenhagen will be compiled and concretely examined with the inclusion of further projects. The exhibition "Liveable City", which will be drawn to the ISU by the Nordic Embassy in Berlin, deliberately takes a look at projects outside the largest cities. An excursion to Copenhagen will allow us to visit lighthouse projects and participating architectural firms.
We will participate in the UIA World Congress of Architects, which will address how experts from across the built environment value chain can contribute to the realization of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.
