Jens Grönniger studied industrial engineering at the TU Braunschweig and has been a research assistant at Braunschweig Pavement Engineering Centre (ISBS) since 2007. Since 2015 he has been the deputy head of the ISBS laboratory, and since 2017 the corresponding position for the associated RAP-Stra Test center. He took his doctoral degree in 2018 in the field of asphalt technology. Through the processing and project management of numerous research projects, he covers a wide range of topics, ranging from the adhesion behavior between bitumen and aggregate to the re-use of reclaimed asphalt at the highest level of added value to the integration of inductive charging technology for electric vehicles in road construction. As an academic adviser, he takes on teaching activities in the field of computer-aided road planning and asphalt technology. He is active in various committees of the german Road and Transportation Research Association (FGSV).
