The TU Braunschweig has developed a language policy that specifies guidelines for the use of German and other languages in research and development. The following primary objectives have been identified:
- to improve the linguistic preparation our students receive for an increasingly English-dominated work and research environment
- to increase our attractiveness to international partners in terms of language
- to increase the German language competence of international students and doctoral candidatesstudents
- to promote the linguistic diversity of Europe with its many highly-developed scientific languages
These measures should be seen as recommendations, not as binding implementation requirements.
