Representatives of TU Braunschweig and the City of Braunschweig met in early October to discuss the collaboration between the university and the immigration office.

Heinrich Schwabecher (Head of the International House), Bernt Erlewein (Head of Division 1) and Professor Rolf Radespiel (Head of the Institute of Fluid Mechanics and representative of the Clusters of Excellence) represented TU Braunschweig at the meeting. The City of Braunschweig was represented by the designated Lord Mayor Dr. Thorsten Kornblum (Head of the Personnel, Digitalisation, Legal and Public Order Department), Dr. Jan Köhler (Head of the Department of Citizen Services and Public Safety) and Kerstin Weßel (Department of Citizen Affairs).

Both sides agreed to expand the cooperation and to optimise the processes between the International House, the Personnel Department and the Immigration Office. A joint working group was founded for this purpose under the leadership of the International House. Its first meeting will take place on 10 November. “We are very happy about the positive and constructive discussions - this is a great signal for our further cooperation,” Heinrich Schwabecher concluded.
