Intercultural Workshop: The Chinese contemporary society and educational system

In this workshop you will:

• gain a comprehensive understanding of the Chinese educational landscape within the context of its contemporary society,
• acquire practical tippa to enhance your communication and support for Chinese students,
• expand your linguistic horizons with a few essential Chinese words.

The workshop will discuss the Chinese educational system with its specific cultural, social and political background, as well as the historical and current situation of Chinese students studying abroad, especially in the context of Germany.  We will also discuss and analyze the lived experiences of Chinese students at TU Braunschweig, with the aim to help lecturers and administrators to better understand Chinese students´ needs and improve the efficiency of the intercultural communication, in order to help create a common space for mutual learning and enrichment on campus.

Participants will receive a workshop completion certificate.

Dates: Wednesday, 12.11.2024 and Thursday, 13.11.2024

Time: 9:30-12:00

Location: Room 329, Bültenweg 74, 38106 Braunschweig

Language: The workshop will be held in English, but participants are also welcome to speak German.
