Following a decision by the state government, attendance teaching at Lower Saxony's universities has been suspended for the time being. The Study Service Center is currently closed. The office hours of the Student Office will also be cancelled. However, internal operations will continue. We will remain available via the Study Service Call and e-mail:
Your enquiries and applications will continue to be processed by us during the closure of the university. An unrestricted maintenance of our services is unfortunately not possible under the current threat of the coronavirus. However, we try to keep the inconvenience for you as low as possible. Therefore we will remain available for you by phone, fax and e-mail. Of course we will continue to receive your submissions by mail.
Compliance with deadlines
In order to meet the deadline, it is usually sufficient to drop the complete application (e.g. for enrolment or for a change of study programme) in the mailbox of the Student Office in time. In the case of postal deliveries, the date of receipt at the Student Office is decisive.
If a missed deadline is foreseeable due to given circumstances (cancellation of exams or similar), please contact us in good time! We will then find a suitable solution together with you. This is also a completely new situation for us, which we will deal with in the best possible way.
The application procedure for locally restricted courses of study started on 01.06.2020.

The General Students' Committee (AStA) has concluded a transitional agreement during the Corona crisis with the Verkehrsverbund Region Braunschweig GmbH and the railway companies of the state-wide semester ticket. From April 1 to May 31, in addition to the "Temporary Semester Ticket" for the first journey to the place of study, a valid certificate of enrollment in conjunction with a valid official photo ID will be recognized as a travel authorization.
Update - 10.06.20: The agreement was extended until 31.07.2020.
Please note: This agreement only applies to re-registered students, i.e. students who were already enrolled at TU Braunschweig in the previous semester and who did not validate their TUcard for the summer semester 2020 in the winter semester 2019/20. This agreement explicitly does not apply to students who are newly enrolled for the summer semester 2020. Instead, they will receive a provisional student identity card by mail as confirmation of their enrollment and information regarding their TUcard.
The summer semester 2020 will start as an online semesteron 20.04.2020 at the TU Braunschweig. We will start with online lectures and seminars. We are working at full speed to change the courses and to create the competences and technical requirements for this.
Please check the websites of your courses to find out in detail how the regulations for the different courses will look like. The central platform for all courses will be Stud.IP. This platform will be used for everything from the electronic provision of documents to video recordings or digitally supported interactive forms of teaching.
Unfortunately, it is not yet clear how long the online phase will last at least. We will inform you here as soon as new information becomes available.
Courses that require the presence of students, such as internships, will be postponed. They will begin as soon as the authorities give the appropriate approvals. Again, we will have to live with the uncertainty about the exact start for a while.
The summer semester 2020 will end on 30.09.2020, as planned.
