Summary
This course introduces the processes and concepts of terrestrial ecohydrology, from drylands, wetlands, and forests to urban areas and from plant scale to catchment scale. Topics include plant physiology and function, evaporation and transpiration, plant adaptation strategies, and the ecohydrology of different biomes. Methods to measure and model ecohydrologically relevant states and processes will be briefly discussed.
Scope
The course targets graduate-level students of the environmental sciences programme as well as students of the civil and environmental engineering programmes. The course consists of weekly lectures (3 ECTS) and practical exercises that are accompanied by a small student research project (3 ECTS). Students will earn 6 ECTS after successful completion.
