Battery Technology

Elenia's battery technology research group deals with a broad spectrum of topics. Research topics are based on cell, module and system level. In the field of battery production, we actively work in the research facility of the "Battery LabFactory Braunschweig" - BLB on questions of formation and cell characterization. In addition to helping to shape current teaching content, it is also possible to carry out metrological tests on cells and battery modules in the own battery laboratory of the institute. Among other topics, temperature-dependent capacitance and internal resistance measurements are carried out on various test benches and contact transfer resistances of cell connectors are determined. By recording impedance spectra, more precise condition determinations are also carried out. In cooperation with the "Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt" - PTB, mainly ageing mechanisms are investigated.
