Motivation
InForm is a research project in the battery production competence cluster InZePro. The main focus of the cluster is on intelligent and flexible cell production.
This is to be achieved through the use of adaptive process control and the application of AI.
InForm focuses on the still very time-intensive forming process and investigates possibilities for improvement.
Project Description
As part of the InForm research project (development of intelligent forming systems to optimize and diagnosis of cell properties), the final production step of lithium-ion batteries – the formation - is being systematically optimized.
To this end, simulation models and methods based on artificial intelligence (AI) are developed and coupled to derive optimized forming strategies.
The aim is to form the battery cells faster, more cheaply and with a higher quality.
