Project introduction:
This project investigates the development of new sensors for status monitoring, such as state of charge and temperature, in lithium ion batteries by using special Bragg gratings inscribed into standard optical glass fibers. With this approach, especially critical battery states can be identified. Additionally, a mathematical model describing the battery behavior under extreme conditions shall be developed, which is to be validated with experimental results.
