In my research, I deal with the life cycle-oriented sustainability assessment of novel aircraft concepts. The overall objective is to support decision making regarding potentially advantageous configurations of airframe and propulsion concepts based on environmental, economic, and social indicators. The complex aircraft concepts are depicted using energy and material flow modeling in the individual life cycle phases, followed by the system analysis using by life cycle sustainability assessment and life cycle engineering methods.
