Bachelor Architektur+

During this year abroad, taken in semesters 5 and 6 of their degree, students have the opportunity to acquire professional intercultural skills. Instead of studying abroad for a semester, students can also participate in an international research or planning project at one of our partner universities – or complete a one – to six-month placement abroad. Students are free to choose their courses and structure their residence abroad.

What is Architecture+?

The admission is starting from 4th semester; the application is possible from 3rd semester onwards. Structure of Bachelor’s degree course Architektur+


The Bachelor’s degree course Architektur+ is based on the modules of the Bachelor’s degree course Architecture and is expanded by an international module.

International module (60 credit points)

Semesters 5 and 6 or 6 and 7

The international module can be arranged flexibly according to the following modules, whereupon at least one semester studying abroad is obligatory.

  • Studying abroad (24 LP)

preparation and follow-up (6 LP)

  • Placement abroad (24 LP)

preparation and follow-up (6 LP)

  • International research project (24 LP)
preparation and follow-up (6 LP)

How do I apply?

Application deadlines:

  • Winter semester: 1 June till 15 July (Admission into the fifth semester)
  • Summer semester: 1 December till 15 January (Admission into the fourth semester)

Students of the bachelor course Architecture+ can apply for scholarships in the program BACHELOR PLUS funded by the DAAD and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.

Scholarships can be granted for studying abroad during up to ten months at BACHELOR PLUS Partner universities of the TU. In certain cases the scholarship period can be divided into five months of abroad studies and five months of internship abroad.

Scholarship includes:

  • Tuition waiver at the guest university
  • Simplified matriculation at the guest university
  • Transfer of academic achievements
  • International Coordination does not arrange placements, but can support you in searching
  • Monthly scholarship rates depending on host country, health insurance, travel cost
  • Requirements:
  • Completion of the forth semester prior to the study period abroad
  • Adequate language preparation
  • Citizen of an European country or foreign non-mobile residents

Application until 30th of November for the following winter or summer semester at the International Coordination of the study course.



The Erasmus Placement Programme provides funding for curriculum-related work placements arranged by students themselves in the EU countries, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Turkey.

Requirements for applying

  • You have completed semester 3 of your degree
  • The placement will last at least 3 months

Depending on the level of pay in the host country, the monthly grant may be up to 400 euros.
You can submit your application at any time, but no later than one month before you are planning to start your placement abroad.
