Project description

The project accompanies the trial of electro-mobility resp. the operational use of electric vehicles in two fields of application („Zentrale Polizeidirektion Niedersachen“ and „Paritätischer Wohlfahrtsverband Niedersachsen e.V.“). One the one side it ensures the visibility of electric vehicles in urban areas and on the other side it allows to test the vehicles under real circumstances.

As part of the project the fleet of the Lower Saxony police will be extended by ten pedelecs, two hybrid vehicles (range extender) and 18 battery electric vehicles which all will be used in operational mode.

The „ Paritätische Wohlfahrtsverband Niedersachsen e.V.“ is implementing the project „Electric fleets in trial“ in the district of Wolfsburg with a total of six battery electric vehicles for the use in social and health services. Mid-term plans aim to establish the electro-mobility as the new standard of the whole fleet.

Objectives

The accompanying research has the objective to perform an economic evaluation of the framework conditions and the application areas to determine how reasonable a partial or complete change to electric fleets would be.

Furthermore the acquisition and analysis of data about the user acceptance, the user behavior and possible user issues will be conducted to develop possibilities for changes to achieve a better user acceptance.
