1. Approval of international university degrees

We need the following information, to find out wether your university degree is approved by the TU Braunschweig:

Title of your university degree (original language)
Name of the university where the degree was acquired (original language)
Year in which the degree was awarded
Please indicate wether you have completed a thesis as part of your attained qualifications and state the length

Please send your inquiry to phd@tu-braunschweig.de.

We will then inform you wether you meet our entrance requirements for direct entry to doctoral studies or which additional qualifications we may ask you to take.

2. Choosing a research field

To find a professor, who will supervise your work, you should already have a detailed idea of the area or the subject you wish to research. Therefore, chose a research field and find out in which institute at the TU Braunschweig the work would be possible.

3. How to find supervision for my doctoral work?

Submit a draft outline of your proposed area of studies and your vita to the institute or professor who is working in your chosen research field. If you are offered a place, your supervisor may accept your individual project proposal or will propose an other specific topic.

4. How do I apply?

If all the mentioned above requirements are clarified, apply at the International Office:

Application form with passport photo
A complete evidence of your school and university education
Certified documents of your school diplomas and university degrees (original language)
Topic of your doctoral thesis
Declaration from your supervisor at the TU Braunschweig
Certificate of German or English language proficiency
Statement of your financial resources (e.g. a scholarship or bank statement)
